THE NATIONAL BLACK MEN'S
HEALTH NETWORK ADOPTS NSYEP
We are pleased to announce the newly formed partnership between
The National Black Men's Health Network (NBMHN) and NSYEP.  After
meeting with Dr. Jean J. Bonhomme, M.P.H. and Mr. Baba "Yoga" Bey
(President and Chair), it was concluded that the NEXT Steps Youth
Entrepreneur Program was in perfect alignment with NBMHN's new
direction for growth and continued sustainability in education they
have outlined for the 21st Century. NBMHN will serve as NSYEP's
fiscal agent and will provide the guidance and resources we need to
positive influence and encourage minority youth to engage in and
pursue S.T.E.M.-based careers, activities and events.

The summer months of FY2010 proved to be
extremely productive  for NSYEP.  From June 1 to July
31, 2010, we successfully completed our first urban
agriculture-based summer training program at the
Metro Atlanta Urban Farm in College Park.  We
secured partnerships with the Atlanta Workforce
Development Agency Mayor's Youth Program and the
Georgia TeenWork Program to give ten students the
experience of a lifetime.

NSYEP Chairman, Baba "Yoga" Bey introduced the
history of the Sankofa bird through an artful
interpretation and melodic African drum beats.  The
symbolism of the Sankofa bird truly reflects the
mentor role The National Black Men's Health Network
has taken to ensure the success of the NEXT Steps
Youth Entrepreneur Program.  In an effort to bridge
the intergenerational communication gaps that exist
in family relationships, NBMHN will assist NSYEP in
forming a Farm Guild.

Expanding Our Reach For FY2010-2011
The Importance of Forming New Partnerships & Collaborations
As a new non-profit organization, the past two years
has introduced NSYEP to a lot of collaborative
opportunities that taught us many valuable lessons.
At times, the lessons came in the form of sweat
equity and untimely distractions while at others, the
overall benefit has always been our ability to know
that we now walk stronger because of this.

As we move forward into the new school year, we
are proud of the new relationships, partnerships
and collaborative initiatives we are forming to help
build and deliver sustainable youth programs and
services.  These new partnerships and
collaborations will allow us the opportunity to
implement the full gamut of our programs and
services to include The Making of Men Honors
Program, the Lyrical Music Concert Series, The CSI
Unit: Community, Science & Innovation Investigation
Teams, and our Train-the-Trainer instructor series.
Our Roster of Newly Formed Partnerships &
