Hands On Atlanta: Global Youth Service Day (April 16, 2011)
Special thanks to the 100+ volunteers that registered to help us mulch the main entrance,
deconstruct the raised garden beds and clear the main walking trail at Atwood Community Gardens:

YIKES! Here's what the kids and
volunteers had to look forward to on
Global Youth Service Day.

Here's the walking trail that leads from
the front of Atwood down to the well.

Amazing how the grass grew around
our leaf compost pile in just six weeks.

I was told this was elephant dung
(zoo-doo) purchased from the zoo
two years ago.

introduce at-risk students to career pathways in science, technology,
engineering and mathematics (S.T.E.M.)
