"Go Tell The Story Of Gospel Music"
The Lyrical Music Concert Series
holy hip hop, Lyrical Concerts are our musical tributes that
celebrate the ever-changing face of gospel (inspirational) music.
From April-September, Atwood Community Gardens will present
artists and musical guests every Sunday (4-6pm) and Thursday
(7-9pm) evening -- ending with an "unplugged" jam session of
musicians from all over the City of Atlanta.

by the books "L'est We Forget" and "No Man Can Hinder Me" by
Atlanta author Velma Maia Thomas.
May

Music is the minister of this gospel blues & spoken word set.
Come enjoy spirit-filled melodies, songs and poetry.

July
Thomas Dorsey - Father Of The Movement
Thomas Dorsey stretched the boundaries in his day to create
great gospel music, choirs, and quartets. Dorsey worked hard to
develop this new music, organizing an annual convention for
gospel artists, touring to sell sheet music and gradually
overcoming the resistance of more conservative churches to what
many of them considered sinful, worldly music.
August
From Urban Contemporary to Holy Hip Hop
Featuring today's modern renditions of how all genres of music
have meshed with the rhythms and grooves that reflect an urban
contemporary sound.
September
Lyrical Music Concert
A weekend concert event that showcases all the themes from the
entire Lyrical Music Concert Series.
