A researcher named J.E. Fox (1993) stated that during
outdoor play, "children find examples of addition and
subtraction, shape identification, patterning, one-to-one
correspondence, number sense, sequencing of events,
use of ordinal numbers, knowledge of prepositions, and
identification of final and initial consonants. Fox's outdoor
observations also found multiple examples of
problem-solving, creative thinking, social competence,
language use, and gross and fine motor skills."
Funny, kids just call it having fun!
