
GENERAL RULES
Exhibit Hours:
Saturday, October 22, 2011
10am - 4pm
Displays:
Tables, easels and grounding instruments may be used to display
your Garden art throughout Atwood Community Gardens. Artists that
wish to decorate or assemble their art on-site are welcomed!
Garden Art Specifications:
Original work--handmade and created by the artist. Examples of
garden art include: outdoor garden sculptures, statues, fountains,
whirligigs, wind chimes, etc. We have 12 rain barrels in our
possession that require specific decor celebrating the art of science,
technology, engineering and mathematics. To reserve a rain barrel,
please email The Sankofa Guild at events@nextstepsyep.org
with your design concept.
Set Up & Tear Down:
Exhibitors will be responsible for all art structures, set-up, and
furnishings. Artists can begin set-up at 8am on Saturday, Oct 22nd.
Displays must be open by 10am and remain open until 4pm. No display
will be allowed to close early without prior permission from the Sankofa Guild. Participants are
responsible for dismantling their displays and cleaning their space before leaving.
Voting:
Voting will take place throughout the day. Results will be posted online within 24-72 hours. Winning
artists and their designs will be notified and featured in all upcoming marketing activities throughout
the entire 2011-2012 growing seasons at Atwood Community Gardens.
Facilities:
Electricity will not be available.
Security:
Participants are responsible for the security of their goods. The Sankofa Guild and event organizers
accept no responsibility for stolen or damaged property, accidents or injury.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
- Placement of the booths will be at the discretion of the Sankofa Guild.
- No participant will be allowed to set up without a signed and dated application and release.
- The Sankofa Guild reserves the right to revoke or refuse to grant space at any time, without
recourse by the participant. The Sankofa Guild shall not be liable to anyone for this action.
Outside vendor guidelines shall be met as determined by City of Atlanta.
- No booth space will be granted to those wishing to express religious, moral, or political opinions.
Display of information of that nature will result in expulsion from the event without recourse or
refund.
- Signage for each booth will be limited to the group or business name only.
- Participants may display or sell only the items that have been specifically approved by the
Sankofa Guild.
- No “boom boxes” or recorded music will be allowed in booth areas.
- All fees are non-refundable. Inclement weather will NOT be grounds for refund.
- No exclusive rights for the sale of any item will be granted.
- No alcohol (including beer and wine) may be served.
